Tutorial time!!

Hi everyone! I'm back! I'm really sorry for the huge gap between post, but I was having a little break from blogging :) but I'm back now and I've got loads to show you and lots of exciting things in the pipeline too!

Today's post is a little tutorial time, inspired by my last post 'purple and lilac'. Which is a nice simple little mani, which I like to call obvious ombré. Instead of a graduated ombré design, this is created by sectioning off the nail into three pieces and painting each piece a different shade.

For this mani I've used three turquoise shades, the darkest is BarryM's 'watermelon'. The middle colour used is Nails Inc 'belsize grove' and the lightest colour is MUA's 'pistachio ice cream'

Start the mani off by choosing one of the colours as your base, it doesn't really matter which one you choose, but the easiest one to go with is probably your choice if middle colour, so in this case 'Belsize grove'

Once this base colour is completely dry (leave as long as poss!!) you'll need some form of tape. I've used masking tape for my mani. Decide how thick you want your three sections of colour, remembering that for the best results the thickness will have to get smaller for each finger (your thumb being the biggest).

The easiest way to do this is to cut strips off your tape and have them all ready and stuck on your nails before you actually start painting. Once you are prepared you can add your colours. Paint the small bottom section in your darkest chosen colour, and the lightest on the top section of nail.

Remove the tape as soon as you finished each nail so the paint is still wet and you should be left with three coloured sections!

I hope you've enjoyed today's tutorial time, have fun with this mani and use any collection of colours you want to! They don't even have to be ombré, just go with random colours if you want!

Thank you all for sticking with me through my 'dry spell' on the blog, but don't worry I'm back to regular blogging now! :)
